User Experience Designer for Amazon Books

At Amazon Books, I worked on integrated screens for their Print on Demand service. I collaborated with researchers and warehouse management to understand previous research and determine which features should be included in mockups and prototypes. I also worked with an outside research agency to plan future investigations. I completed smaller features for different parts of Amazon Books, including sign off on wording and design changes, either in the form of mockups or pixel-accurate designs.

User Experience Designer for Amazon AWS Marketing

For Amazon AWS Marketing, I designed and built a Design System to aid in the creation of new and updated pages on the AWS website. This system documented past web design choices, guided future design projects, and provided a tool to quickly create prototypes for new pages and research best practices. I created fully customizable templates for product design pages and designed a concept for a new product page, including card displays, search options, and "how it works" diagrams. I also created a "site merch" image for one of the projects.

Each individual component was built in Figma and most were built to be editable to allow ease of use while matching as closely as possible with the components it is possible to create using the Adobe page building tool that AWS Marketing uses.

Below are images of a few of the fully customizable templates of product design pages as seen in Figma.

Below are images from a concept I designed for a new product page. This concept (images 1 & 2) looked at what could change in the cards below, what might change if some products were featured, and what might be possible if the cards could expand out of their original shape. The search section looked at how keywords or categories could be used to help find an applicable product for a user. The 3rd and 4th images are two of many “how it works” diagrams I created while at AWS. These were constrained to fit within a standard format and most required building new icons for portions of the diagram. The last image is a “site merch” image I created for one of the projects, multiple versions of these had to be made to allow the product’s team options for usage.
